The sharks were so impressed with Melanie, they all agreed she is exactly the entrepreneur they invest in and her offering solves a real need globally. The win opens capital funding avenues and importantly builds on her personal and company brand credibility. The cash prize sponsor was ANSTO which is an Australian Government Science and technology research center, this too opens networking and profile-raising opportunities.
